The limitations of the Ledger Wallet software affect Cardano users' participation in the Glacier Airdrop.

According to news from HashiChain, the software limitations of the Ledger hardware Wallet have caused some Cardano users to be unable to participate in the Midnight Foundation's "Glacier Airdrop" event. This is due to Ledger's implementation of the CIP-8 protocol limiting messages to 31 bytes, while the airdrop messages require 251 bytes. Currently, Ledger has not provided an update on the timing. Cardano's founder Charles Hoskinson pointed out that this is a Cardano-specific issue within Ledger's software. Fahmi Syed, the chairman of the Midnight Foundation, confirmed that they are in communication with Ledger. Although Ledger does not have a fix yet, Cardano developers are rolling out a workaround that aims to incorporate it into the "Glacier Airdrop" protocol to assist affected users.
