Dear child:
First of all, please accept my sincerest congratulations! You have successfully passed the baptism of the college entrance examination, which is undoubtedly an important milestone. Being able to safely and healthily get through three years of high school is a victory in itself. No matter which university you are ultimately admitted to, that is not the most important thing. You have completed the tasks of this stage in your life and have performed exceptionally well, creating new history for our family. What a wonderful thing to celebrate!
Thinking back to the end of last year, when you mentioned the approaching year of 2025, there was a hint of unease in your tone. I told you then not to worry; you have already put in a lot of effort. No matter the outcome of the exam, you will always be my favorite son. The only difference may be where you will start your college life. We should not be afraid of June 6th approaching; on the contrary, I hope that day comes soon so we can end this process quickly.
From when you were a babbling child to now, having grown into a thoughtful, knowledgeable, and cultured high school graduate, you are about to step into the halls of university. The foundational education, family education, and social experiences you have received, combined with your personal unremitting efforts, have endowed you with valuable qualities such as self-discipline, ambition, resilience, integrity, honesty, responsibility, and trustworthiness. You have mastered the basic knowledge of most human disciplines and possess a sharp mind and a healthy body.
At the beginning of the New Year, I sit in the office, reflecting on the past and looking to the future. As a father, I have witnessed the hardships and confusion experienced by a high school student; as an educator, I am also pondering: how can those students who succeed in the competition for grades become the talents that society and the future truly need, and how can they live independently and happily through this life? After all, having a wonderful college life and walking a good path in life are crucially dependent on one's attitude and values towards life.
