Cornell University is close to reaching a settlement protocol with the White House worth up to $100 million.
On August 2, Jin10 reported that, according to informed sources, the White House is negotiating with Cornell University to reach a settlement agreement of up to $100 million to restore hundreds of millions of dollars in federal research funding that had previously been frozen. The informed sources said that the agreement could be announced as early as next week. One of the issues still under discussion is whether the agreement will require the establishment of a "monitor" to oversee Cornell University's implementation of various corrective measures required by the U.S. government. This arrangement has already been accepted by Columbia University, which reached a $221 million settlement agreement last month. If an agreement is reached, Cornell University will become the latest Ivy League school to settle with the Trump administration. Cornell University declined to comment.
